Authentic award document issued to Maschinengfreiter Anton Franke for receiving the U-Boots-Kriegsabzeichen 1939 (U-Boat War Badge) – a prestigious naval decoration of the German Kriegsmarine during World War II.The certificate is dated 7 November 1944, and was awarded “on board”  and the signature of Admiral Hans-Georg von Friedeburg, last commander of the U-boat fleet and later head of the Kriegsmarine.
